Sport

At New Plymouth Girls’ High, sport is all about the student, whether they're chasing gold medals or just love being part of the action!

From social games with friends to high-performance competition, there’s something for everyone.

Through sport, our students grow stronger—not just physically, but in heart and mind. They learn what it means to commit, to support each other, and to bounce back when things get tough. It’s about building confidence, resilience, and friendships that last a lifetime.

Our participation pathway allows students sporting opportunities that can be either competitive or social. The high-performance pathway takes students that excel in their sport and are selected in the top teams/squads right the way through from Year 9 - 13. This includes supporting our students to participate in representative teams, NZSS sports teams and further should a student wish. Students looking to receive overseas scholarships post high school are also supported.

So come join the fun, find your passion, and be part of something amazing. Let’s play, grow, and succeed - together!
