At NPGHS, we cater to both competitive and social tennis players through the TSSSA Tennis competition. The top players will pay interschool tennis competitions against Whanganui Collegiate and Palmerston North Girls’ High School, on a home and away schedule during Term 1.

For player development and additional coaching it is recommended that students join one of the local tennis clubs.

Any student wishing to play can use the turf courts during lunchtimes and after school.

Venue:  NPGHS artificial turf courts and other venues to be decided annually.

Uniform:  School provides competitive players with a skort (optional) and singlet. Each player needs to provide tracksuit pants and their own tennis equipment. The school will provide tennis balls for all competitions. Social tennis players can borrow school rackets (if required) and tennis balls.

Cost:  School Exchanges approximately $15-$45 depending on whether it’s a home or away meeting.
