Josie Cleaver

Director of Sport

Josie Cleaver has worked at New Plymouth Girls’ High School for over 40 years as a Physical Education Teacher and as Director of Sport. Throughout her career she has been actively involved in many sports taking on various roles such as coach, manager, first aid and administrator. She has maintained a passion for sport and activity and believes the health benefits of active participation are not only physical but also mental. Playing sports teaches students life lessons like discipline, responsibility, self-confidence, accountability and teamwork. Her job is to ensure students are given every possible opportunity to actively participate in a variety of sports, fitness or fun activities.

Josie maintains a strong personal interest in both Netball and Basketball and keeps fit with walking and gym sessions.
