It is a pleasure to be serving as one of your Board of Trustees. NPGHS is the third school board I have served on, the first two being Vogeltown Primary and Highlands Intermediate schools. My current roles on the NPGHS BoT are broad and varied. I am the trustee member of the Hostel Committee. I perceive the hostel as one of our most important places in the school, it is the place where families entrust the care of their daughter(s) with us, and I am very proud to work alongside the hostel leaders to ensure that we provide the best possible home like environment for our young women. Additionally, I am a member of the Personnel and Student Discipline Committee, another important role where wellbeing, fairness and justice are central to our operations. I also take a keen governance lead in curriculum, Maori achievement and many areas of policy and process.

Outside of the school, my professional roles span project management, tertiary teaching, business consultancy, research and evaluation, roles I perform in the health, iwi and community sectors. My voluntary work extends to a range of sports, in which my children are particularly active: surf lifesaving, swimming, netball, basketball and football.

I am looking forward to the next three years on the Board, where we will see an exciting period of change. I am proud to be a member of the NPGHS community, and I look forward to embracing the current challenges before us to enable all students to achieve their individual goals, aspirations and successes.
