On Sunday 7th July, the First XV won its game in the Hurricanes provincial knockout competition game against Sacred Heart College.

NPGHS won the game with a convincing score of 52-5.

The game was hard fought with Sacred Heart starting the game in a very strong fashion and scoring the first try of the game but NPGHS came back very quickly with a determined attitude and played the rest of the game with superior skills and pace.

Tries scored
Rata Lovell-Smith (1)
Sita Tutolu (1)
Brooke Sim (2)
Hannah Ross (2)
Tiana Matthews (2)
Kate Broadmore converted 6 of the trys

All players showed excellent team spirit and fair play. Congratulations to the team and to Ken Lobb (Coach)

NPGHS will now play the winning school from the Wanganui region, the winner going forward to the semi-finals against the Hawkes Bay regional winner and then the final against the winner of the Wellington and Manawatu competition. Good luck girls! You are representing the school with pride.
